Jason Kennedy
An Emmy-nominated television host and producer, Jason Kennedy began creating news content as a teenager and went on to build a decades-long career in entertainment journalism, including hosting E! News and Live From the Red Carpet, contributing to NBC’s Today show, and guest hosting Access Hollywood.
He and his wife, Lauren Scruggs Kennedy—an author and founder who experienced limb loss after a life-altering accident—share a passion for uplifting others and expanding access to mobility and care for people living with disabilities.
Don Schoendorfer, PhD
Free Wheelchair Mission President and Founder Don Schoendorfer is a biomedical engineer who developed a durable, low-cost wheelchair designed for people living in developing countries. What began with prototypes built in his garage has grown into a global mission that has distributed more than 1.5 million wheelchairs in 95 countries since 2001.
Holding degrees from Columbia University and MIT, and co-inventor on more than 50 biomedical patents, Don brings a unique blend of innovation, compassion, and firsthand experience that continues to inspire people around the world.
Nuka Hart
Free Wheelchair Mission CEO Nuka Hart leads the organization’s strategic vision and global operations, helping drive its continued growth and impact around the world. With extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, donor engagement, and major event fundraising, Nuka is passionate about building meaningful connections that inspire generosity and lasting change.
Because of her Haitian heritage, Nuka felt called to work with an organization that has been making a significant impact in Haiti and other countries around the world—providing renewed dignity, independence, freedom, and joy through the gift of mobility.
