13-year old Nicolai Calabria, born with only one leg, set out to climb to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa on Tuesday, August 28, with his father, Carl. He completed his mission on Tuesday, September 4, and surpassed his goal of raising at least $25,000 for “Free Wheelchair Mission.” Nico’s initial goal was to raise $25,000, which would have provided 550 wheelchairs to the poorest of the poor in Tanzania. To date he has raised more than $75,000 and continues to transform lives through the gift of mobility.
