The Fenn School works steadily to create an increasingly diverse, inclusive community. They are passionately committed to helping their students develop into caring, compassionate, responsible citizens and leaders who honor differences and respect the wealth of talents of all people.  Free Wheelchair Mission is pleased to be a part of their day to help broaden these students’ minds to the reality of developing countries as they learn first hand from Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah, resident of Ghana, Africa and inspiration behind the documentary “Emmanuel’s Gift.”

ABOUT NICOLAI

Nicolai Calabria was born with only one leg, yet, when he turned thirteen he set out to climb Africa’s Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise money for wheelchairs for the poorest of the poor. By the time he reached the peak he had exceeded his original $25,000 goal and has since raised over $100,000 to transform lives through the gift of mobility.

Free Wheelchair Mission is pleased to announce that this year’s Inaugural “Ability through Mobility” Junior award will be presented to Nicolai Calabria. This award is given in honor of a disabled American young adult who is making a difference in the world around them by turning a “disability” into an “ability.” We are excited to have Nicolai’s inspiration, Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah of “Emmanuel’s Gift,” with us this evening to present this award.  By breaking barriers and stereotypes, Nicolai has inspired and motivated us all by transforming not only his own community but also the world around him. Please come help us honor him on this very special evening.
