Greetings and Happy Friday!

December 17, 2004

Don Schoendorfer, our fearless leader, is in Chile this week so I am sending out the Friday Story for him. Lenni Luchau.

Some news this week:

  • A container should arrive in the Philippines tomorrow.
  • 25,000 wheelchairs for Christmas. We can do this! So far we have funds for about 16,500! Check out our website to see our progress.

These three brief stories come from Dan Brose of World Relief, Rwanda:Jean Paul smiling

Jean Paul was born with congenital malformation. His limbs are deformed because one bone is missing in each leg. "I haven't been able to leave home and it was really hurting me because of it. I am very happy to have this wheelchair. Now I can visit my friends!"

Vestine now up off the groundVestine contracted polio when she was two months old. She normally doesn’t do much at home except sleep. In the past it’s been hard to find someone to take her to church and go visit friends. “Normally I am crawling on the ground but now that I have a wheelchair I am so happy and thankful for it.”Ezekial

At five years old, Ezekial got polio and both legs have been paralyzed because of it. He crawls all the time. "This wheelchair will help me move around at home, from my room to the bathroom. Now that I will not be on the ground, I can share a meal with others and people at home.”

Let us know if you want us to add your friends to our Friday Wheelchair Story distribution.
