Here
is a story from our partner C. V. Vadavana and Sathyam
Trust in India: "My daughter's name is Soumya. She is 12 years old. From her birth she suffered from Cerebral Palsy. She cannot walk, and she is mentally retarded. I have five children, and Soumya is the eldest. Soumya is very sweet and a shy girl. She is a very loving child. She is interested in studying, but we do not have the money to send her to the school for mentally retarded children. Many a night my wife and children sleep with hungry stomachs. I am only a humble farmer, unable to fulfill the needs of my family. Two of our children have died due to lack of proper nutrition. One day I came to know about the Free Wheelchair Mission organized by the Sathyam Trust. One of my church leaders brought an application for me. I submitted the forms, and by the grace of God Almighty I received a wheelchair! The moment Soumya saw the wheelchair, she was so happy that tears filled her eyes. I pray to God for His blessing by His mighty grace." |
