Greetings and Happy Friday!

Nagavalli in her wheelchair. At the age of five Nagavalli was struck by polio. Nagavalli tells the story of her time before the wheelchair: “There was always great suffering. I was left alone and could not go out with my husband or daughter. I always crawled and my hands and knees bled from scraping the dirt and rocks. Transportation to the hospital, clinic or church always included ‘special fees’ applied by dishonest taxi and rickshaw drivers for ‘invalid handling’. These 'special fees' almost doubled the costs of going anywhere".

In November of 2003, Nagavalli received one of our wheelchairs. Now she is able to go to hospital, clinic and church in her wheelchair. She conducts all of her household chores, and she attends performances to watch her daughter dance and act. The gift of our wheelchair provides dignity and mobility for Nagavalli. She saves the 'special fee' money, and this results in a higher standard of living for three generations of Nagavalli’s family. Where else in the world has $41 done so much?

God bless,

Don
