This
story comes from Jonathan in Peru: While in a small village, we stopped at a home to deliver a wheelchair. We introduced ourselves and asked the name of the child that we were giving the wheelchair and were told that nobody knew the child’s name. He had been abandoned by his father and his mother had died long ago. A neighbor took him in, but he does not have a birth record nor do the neighbors know who he is. Because of extreme shame, the family hides their handicapped child and because of their poverty they do not try to get their official documents or birth certificate. A simple wheelchair expresses the love that he is not forgotten. With a smile from ear to ear he was wheeled out of the darkness of loneliness and separation and into the light of love and fellowship with his neighbors & community. God bless, Don |
