Greetings and Happy Friday!

May 28, 2004

This trip comes from Jef while he traveled in India:

"Some children just have the ability to rise above their own circumstances and think of others. Ten year old Lakshmi is such a child. Though disabled by polio most of her life she has a smile that can brighten an entire room. She spoke about how she used to be afraid to go home before she had the wheelchair. “My mom had to spend a lot of time putting on and off my calipers for my weak legs. Now when I go home with the wheelchair I am much less of a burden." Lakshmi in her new wheelchair
When she grows up she would like to be “a teacher… maybe a science teacher.”

Lakshmi offered without our prompting: “I pray that others continue to get wheelchairs and I pray for the success and safety of everyone in the Free Wheelchair Mission.”

God bless,
