Greetings and Happy Friday!April 25, 2004 |
| Sorry
I am two days late. This story comes from Jonathan Lopes of the Camino
de Vida Church in Peru. "Recently we delivered over 350 wheelchairs throughout the Northern Coast of Peru in various towns & villages. The impact a simple wheelchair would make not only affected the person receiving the wheelchair but it affected the entire family and community. A single mom with 6 children, the 2 oldest (19 & 23 yrs. old) have polio, she does not have a job, lives in an adobe shack with no electricity and no help. To move her sons she places a sheet on the dirt floor and places one in the center of the sheet, wraps the sheet around him and lifts him up. When we arrived at her home, along with the congressmen and the mayor, and told her that today she would be given 2 wheelchairs for her two oldest sons, she began to weep because she can easily bathe them, feed them, and take them to the park. We all wept together as we helped her place her sons in their new wheelchair. " We’ll be sending wheelchairs and a team to Peru again in summer,
2004 and would welcome your contributions to continue the miracles in
Peru. |
