Greetings and Happy Friday!March 12, 2004 |
| Many letters from those receiving our wheelchairs are striking because of the simplicity of the one wish that is fulfilled: enjoying nature and sunshine. In Southern California this week, we've been gifted with unseasonable warm sunshine. The following excerpts from China puts in perspective how thrilling that gift can be: "When the wheelchair was sent to my home. . . .I could not help crying while thankful tears were coming out of my eyes. . .my family pushed the wheelchair taking me to the backyard. While basking in the warm sun, I truly understood the meaning of happiness and hilarity." From a gentleman who lost his legs in 1969: "At the beginning of this year, a new wheelchair was sent to my home and I finally could go out to see the sky and all the changes in my country. I was so excited and my feeling beyond the words." And then this one: "Because of the love of Christ, you have sent us the love and caring. My feet could not move before, I had to stay inside for everyday. It was impossible for me to see the beautiful nature created by our Lord. But, I can sit in the wheelchair you have sent me to look around and feel direct sun on my face. Nothing can express my happiness and gratefulness in my heart. The gift of mobility and sunshine together make a powerful statement. God bless, |
